Smoothing out the lines -- Wrinkles!
Wrinkles are natural occurrences of the aging process. However, aging is not the only cause of fine and deep facial lines. Habitual and dynamic muscle movements also lead to furrows, as well as harsh environmental elements like pollution, the sun and extreme temperatures.
Aging gracefully is all right. But if you are experiencing the onslaught of wrinkles prematurely, it is time to stop and check if your skin care regiment is helping you enough to stop this from happening.
The effect of external factors on the skin is cumulative. This means that years of laughing, crying, and exposure to the sun will eventually take its toll on your skin.
STAY OUT OF THE SUN. the sun damages the skin by working on the epidermis, the skin’s topmost layer. The damage progresses to the other parts of the skin, making them thinner, less resilient and more susceptible to wrinkling. Collagen and elastin fibers are also attacked, making the skin sag.
HOLD OFF THE ALCOHOL & CIGARETTES. Alcohol dehydrates the skin, making it more prone to wrinkles, while smoking depletes the skin’s Vitamin C levels and robs the skin of its youth and radiance. Since alcohol is not entirely bad for the body, if you must drink, do so in moderation. But if you’re smoking, kick the habit.
DRINK UP. Make sure you get enough water everyday. Eight glasses a day is average. If you tend to perspire a lot, drink more.
